Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've
learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world.
One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.
On this page I'll provide a little information about the Michael Rengert family and what inspired me to do this research.
Most of the family information was obtained from talking to living relatives and from Mary Jo Baker (my sister's mother-in-law)
who researched public records for years. I also have to credit the many family members, who in the interest of preserving
the family history and heritage, and in the interest of the upcoming 100th Rengert Reunion in 2008 have provided many, many family
pictures. We are always interested in obtaining more family pictures. In the course of doing this research, I've
discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought possible!
This is a work in progress, so please contact
me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.

I'd like to thank the Rengert Reunion committee who kicked off this project: Linda Ruehrmund, Cindi Baker, Beth
Higgins, and Karen May. Without the support of all our family members this project would have never gotten off the ground.
Thanks to all who have provided pictures, stories, recipes, history, family information, etc. to help launch this
project to help celebrate our 100th Rengert Reunion to be held on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 (information regarding reunion
on another web page).
Thanks once again for all the support and the continued support and supplying pictures and family information.
Karen May
